NANO ZEN

Very loosely related to what follows, I have two empty wine bottles on my kitchen table I’ve used for candle stick holders, the various colours of wax having dripped down the sides over the years, like stalagmites gathering sediment.

Often when I watch a DVD or diddle about on my computer late at night, I like to turn off the lights and light (scented) candles. I find late nights are a source of calm, respite, and inspiration while I’ll listen to the music of Enigma, Rachmaninov, Tangerine Dream, or similar.

Though tonight, I listen to the simple beat of the Grandfather clock, the fall of rain, and the occasional wet splash of passing wheels.
